WITH the KZNCC’S Top Cat event just several hours away; there is a lot of preparation happening in the background.
Like humans prepare for a gala event; the venue is being staged, kitties are being puffed and fluffed, brushed and washed as we speak. It’s the ‘who is who’ of the Kwa-Zulu Natal feline society competing for honours.
On requesting the list of names: Vice-Chair Nicole Barratt responded that she couldn’t let the cat out of the bag due to the “judges having to remain anonymous until the day of the show”.
Some of the entrants recently competed in the Cat Fancy’s Cat of the Year and Ruby category.
Apart from the show; the feline competitors also add their celebrity to raise funds for an important cause: ‘Feed the Furballs’ campaign run by Farrah Maharajh.
Visit their page on Facebook to see what they’re all about.
‘Feed the Furballs’ is an NPO operating in Kwa-Zulu Natal. They help feed stray cats and dogs; including assist with re-homing them. Toys and bags will be on sale at the show.
