THE MULTIPLY Titans beat the BizhubHighveld Lions by 109 runs on 26 February in their third round of the Momentum One Day Cup on home soil.

After a rocky start in the MODC; the Titans recovered well.

The Lions won the toss and elected to field.

The Titans’s  batting wasn’t on its usual par – with the home team setting the Lions a target of 268 runs to chase. Considering the Lions’s batting line-up; this wasn’t enough. Henry Davids (63), Albie Morkel (61) and Heino Kuhn  (33) were the top scorers for the hosts. Tight bowling by Beuran Hendricks (3 wickets) and Bjorn Fortuin (2 wickets) accounted for the fall of the crucial wickets of the Titans.

A disappointed Reeza Hendricks explained the unusual lacklustre performance of the Lions: “Our batting let us down, but we will bounce back”. They didn’t have enough wickets in hand to recover or defend their position.
